Fish Bites: May 17th

Every Week in 2024, just in time for you to get ready for the weekend ahead, we here at ANGLERS Fly Shop bring you Fish Bites. Not another bloated, out-of-date fishing report, just a few of the most important, need-to-know updates on #BoiseAnglers favorite local fisheries.

Everything you need to know, nothing you don’t.

This Week:

We’re SO close. A few weeks out from it being game on.

RIVER UPDATE

Owyhee River - Currently hovering around 1K CFS. We may be a few weeks out for casual wading, but as it continues to dip, new spots will open up, so keep an eye out.

South Fork Boise River - Not open until Memorial Day weekend. Flowing around 1.7K CFS, should be floatable and fun, if not crowded, for opening weekend.

Boise River in town - Still too high to wade. Floating is possible, a few folks getting fish on streamers, but not yet advisable before the City and BFD go through and clear strainers, etc.

Middle Fork of the Boise River - Blown out.

STILLWATER UPDATE

Local Bass fishing - With warming temperatures, bass are going to be heating up any day.

Crane Falls, Duck Valley - Absolutely on fire.

Horsethief Reservoir: Go. Now.

Questions? Want more details? Give us a ring at the shop or stop by on your way out! We’d love to set you up.
